Grant Writing Workshop:
Introduction to Proposal Writing and Introduction to Project Budgets

Date: Friday, August 25, 2017
Time: 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with boxed lunch break at Noon

Brian Schultz, Community Outreach Manager at the Foundation Center's Cleveland Office, will present two classes on Proposal Writing and Project Budgets:

Introduction to Proposal Writing: 

This class will provide you with an overview of how to write a standard project proposal to a foundation. It will include:

  • The basic elements of a proposal
  • The “do’s” and “don’ts” of writing and submitting a proposal
  • How to follow up whether the answer is yes or no

Introduction to Project Budgets: 

If preparing a budget for your foundation grant is holding you back, this class will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to generate a standard project budget for a foundation proposal.  We will discuss:

  • The basic components of a project budget including income and expenses
  • How to estimate the realistic cost of a project
  • What other financial documents you may also need to submit with your proposal

Boxed Lunches will be available for $7 from Stray Dog Cafe, payable by cash or credit cards. Attendees will order and pay at check-in, and the lunches will be delivered at Noon. Vegetarian options will be available.
